Another blazing hot week in Fairfield Glade rendered all sorts of fireworks — some good, some bad. Of course the good fireworks were those enjoyed on the evening of July 4th. Hundreds enjoyed the fabulous explosions of color and light (photo left) from their viewing positions at Robinhood Park or Druid Hills, or perhaps there own backyards. Of course, there were explosions of a different sort the next night as a hard-hitting thunderstorm with ferocious winds whipped through the Glade, knocking down trees (like the one below on Forest View Dr.) and powerlines along the way. Instead of the bright lights of the fireworks, residents were left with no lights at all as power was out over much of Fairfield Glade for several hours.
