For The Vista
Emma Fitzpatrick, a former “Annie” at the Cumberland County Playhouse and a graduate of Belmont University, is now being seen on local movie screens across the U.S. in “The Collection.”
Fitzpatrick is the granddaughter of Keith D. Pontius of Fairfield Glade.
According to Frank Scheck from the Hollywood Reporter, this movie is a sequel to Marcus Dunstan’s horror film “The Collector”. It is now playing at the Carmike Theatre Cookeville and several theatres in Knoxville. It is hoped that it will be in Crossville in the near future.
Upon graduation from Belmont University, Emma performer for Celebrity Cruise Lines and then did a nine-month run with Disney Tokyo. She has since been working in Hollywood, doing bit parts with Justin Timberlake, numerous shows at restaurants, and many ads, including TJ Max, Motorola, GM, and others.
This is her first lead role in a full length movie, and she hopes to generate more interest in some more upscale movies. She loves the theatre business and has built up quite a list of supporters in building her career.
Originally from Marion, Ohio, she lived in the Nashville area for a number of years before reaching out with her acting career. She is best known for her musical work, but likes being an actress and being on stage.
“According to Scheck, “The Collection” is an efficient chiller offering some real chills along the way, beginning with an early sequence depicting the elaborate massacre of dozens of teens at an underground dance party that features the most fake blood seen onscreen since “The Shining.”
Attending the party is beautiful rich girl Elena (Emma Fitzpatrick) who manages to open a trunk and rescue Arkin, the hapless thief who was the film’s primary victim. Particularly effective is Elena’s encounter with several tarantulas and another simple but well-staged sequence involving a flickering light.
