To correct any confusion about the dates of the three-day Joe Fettingis Watercolor Workshop, it is scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 24, 25, and 26, from 9:30 A.M. to 4 P.M. with an hour for lunch each day.
Joe Fettingis is an outstanding artist who has been invited by the Art Guild at Fairfield Glade to present his Watercolor Workshop at the Plateau Creative Arts Center (PCAC).
With the help of a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, the cost for the workshop has been reduced to $165 for members of the Art Guild or $215 for non-members.

Each day of Joe’s three-day workshop will focus on a different subject: the first day will be devoted to painting faces, the next day an animal, and the third day a dramatic landscape.
For each day’s painting project, Joe will include demos and step-by-step instruction from the painting’s start and finish.
Joe Fettingis is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and has been published in American Artist Magazine, Palette Talk, and International Artist.

Fall Awards Art Show and Reception Oct.10
The public is invited to the reception and opening of the Annual Fall Awards Art Show on October 10 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Plateau Arts Center (PCAC).
The theme of the show is Wild about Art. Artists of the Art Guild at Fairfield Glade will submit their original work to be judged on this theme in the following categories: Watercolor and acrylic under glass, Oil and acrylic not under glass, Mixed media, Pastel, Colored pencil drawing, Black and white drawing, Photography, Three dimensional, and Jewelry. Awards will be given for each category. This year’s judge is Bobbie Crews of Knoxville.
The reception will include refreshments viewing of the new show, and presentation of awards. The PCAC is a not-for-profit 501 (c 3) organization and handicapped accessible. Website: www.artguildfairfieldglade.net.
Farber Offers Beaded Bracelet Jewelry Class
Popular artist/instructor Linda Farber’s newest class offering is the Beaded Lace Bracelet Jewelry Class at the Plateau Creative Arts Center (PCAC).
This lacy looking bracelet is so light-weight that you’ll forget you wearing it, but everyone else will be sure to notice its elegance. A Linda Farber design, the stitch may be a bit difficult for the beginning student, but everyone is welcome to attend and give it a try.
The Beaded Lace Bracelet Jewelry Class is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, from 9:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
The cost of the class is $17 for members of the Art Guild or $22 for non-members. At the beginning of class, a project materials kit will be provided by the instructor.
The cost of the kit will depend on the cost of materials at time that Linda purchased them. Students are asked to bring certain items from home if they have them: a pair of small sharp scissors, beading needles, and Fire Line. If not, they will be provided.
Linda Farber’s artwork has won multiple awards, and she is one of the Art Guild’s top selling artists. In addition to creating a multitude of stylish jewelry; she also produces amazing artwork in a variety of other mediums. including colored pencil and watercolor.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH IS ROSALYN HUFFORD
During the month of September at the Plateau Creative Arts Center, the Artist of the Month will be Rosalyn Hufford, who has studied and participated in several aspects of the fine arts throughout her life.
Rosalyn completed classes in charcoal drawing, oil painting, and pottery at Penn State University. She painted in oils for several years until she discovered the beauty of transparent watercolors and all the different aspects and many challenges it provides. Her paintings have been shown at galleries in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania.
This exhibit will be shown during September at the PCAC, 451 Lakeview Drive (off Peavine), Fairfield Glade. Hours for the Art Gallery are Monday – Friday 9 am – 4 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm – 4 pm.
