Joe and Peggy Norris stand next to their classic 1966 Ford Mustang that was recently at the car show at Food City. But the history of the car is interwined with the Norris’ history together. The two dated in it and when their oldest son, Chris, got into high school he drove it throughout high school and through college at UT. He also dated in in and then, after graduation he stored it.
“Anyway to make a long story short,” said Peggy, a reatltor at Happy Hound Realty, “we met a man here, Robin Owens, who restores old cars. He has completely restored it. This car has been in our family all these years. My husband is a retired Pharmacist and drove the car for years 100 miles round trip to Baptist hospital in Memphis from where we lived close to Ripley, TN. Now our son is a Pharmacist and is the Director of Pharmacy at Ft. Sanders in Knoxville. We have the original bill of sale and if I’m not wrong my husband paid around $2,000 for the car.”
Robin Owens is the owner of Owen Oldies in Crossville.
Interestingly, the Norris’ other son, Kevin, who lives in Murfreesboro, is also a pharmacist.
