For the Vista
Special events are scheduled for the next four months as the Cumberland Medical Center Wellness Complexes at Crossville and Fairfield Glade celebrate anniversaries.
The Crossville Complex opened in April 1997. The Fairfield Glade Complex opened in July 2003.
Norma Hyder, business manager, said, “We have worked hard over the years to achieve these milestones. Each facility has grown in membership. The numbers of classes and programs has increased, along with a wider variety of equipment. Our philosophy that “exercise is medicine” has proven itself. We have a long list of members, who have excellent results from regular exercise.”
In April, members may bring a friend to use the facility for free for one week. If the friend enrolls by the end of that week, the member will receive one free month added to the end of their contract. The free month is for every new contract written, not every person added.
A $26 enrollment fee will also be available in April. Clients, who would normally pay $80 or $64 will receive the special offer. No other discounts will apply.
In May a training special will be offered.
Members can purchase three 30-minute training sessions for $26. It equates to one free session. The offer is limited to one package per person.
In June there will be a drawing for a free massage.
With each visit, members can place their name into a drawing for a free 30-minute massage. Hot Stone massages are not included.
One name will be drawn each Friday during June and the member will be notified. Members can win only one time.
The four drawings per facility will be with Beth Cunningham and Jean Cheely at the Crossville facility. Jamie Cox and Barbara Sutch are the massage therapists at the Fairfield Glade facility.
In July there will be a drawing for one free month.
With each visit, members place their names into a drawing for the free month to be added to the end of their contract. One name will be drawn each Friday during July and the person will be notified.
Members can only win the free month once. With each visit, anyone listed on a contract can enter their name, but there is only one winner per contract.
Longobardo to speak at Wellness Complex
Dr. Vincent Longobardo, DPM, will speak Wednesday, March 27 on the effects of exercise on feet, proper care, and problems that can be avoided. The Community Seminar will be at 5:30 P.M. in the Conference Room at the Cumberland Medical Center Wellness Complex at Crossville.
Members and non members can attend free of charge. The program is open to the public.

“Participants in golf, basketball, marathons, or daily walking, can also get relief from pain in a non invasive way.
“Relieving foot pain is as important for a professional athlete as it is for a factory worker. Both spend most of the day on their feet,” he said.
Dr. Longobardo treats patients daily for common heel pain complaint.
He points to years of experience and proven methods to decrease discomfort and get patients started to recovery. At the Seminar he will review techniques and exercises to decrease discomfort and increase strength and stability.
Dr. Longobardo also stresses the importance of foot health for diabetics.
“I emphasize the importance of foot health and regular examinations for diabetics. It can deter serious problems associated with lower extremities,” Dr. Longobardo explained.
