For The Vista
KOTR will be the charitable recipient at the Spring Home, Health, and Business Expo to be held at the Fairfield Glade Community and Conference Center on April 26.
Business Cumberland, formerly Fairfield Glade Resource Directory, has consistently had a charitable recipient at each of their Expos.
Last Fall, Junior Achievement was the recipient of a free booth, 50/50 raffle, donations at the Expo and on their website, and informational meetings to share information about their organization.
At this Spring’s Expo, Kids On The Rise will be the charitable recipient.
A quilt, donated by the Peacemakers of Cumberland County, will be raffled off, as well as a 6-session exercise card from the Mountainview Studios.
KOTR will also receive 50% of the funds raised in the 50/50 raffle that day, sponsored by Business Cumberland. In addition, all proceeds from sales of Thirty-One bags will be donated to Kids on the Rise that day.
Informational meetings about Kids On The Rise and how to become a mentor will be held at both 10 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. in the Board room at the Expo.
Copies of the book, “Wear Your Collar,” will be sold that day. Author Gene Skipworth will be on hand to autograph books from 9 to 11 A.M.
All proceeds from the sale of the book will help fund college scholarships for graduating seniors who have been in the KOTR program for at least four years.
Kids On The Riseis a non-profit agency that provides Mentors and Storybook Readers to Cumberland County Schools.
