Fairfield Glade Lions Club installed the first lady President in their 38-year history at the June 16th meeting.
Carol Pontius has been a very active member ever since joining the Club nearly 5 years ago and has maintained perfect attendance.
She served as Club Treasurer for 2 years before being elected as 2nd Vice President and then 1st Vice President this past year before being elected President.
She also served as District 12-0 Cabinet Secretary for one year.
She received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, the highest honor conferred by the Lions Club International Foundation.
Carol is also very active in community activities. She served on the Fairfield Glade Community Club Board of Directors for 3 years and as President for 2 years.
She is a member of the Art Guild in FFG, Treasurer of the Ladies Club and Treasurer of the Resident Homeowners Association. Carol has lived in Fairfield Glade since 1994 and has a BBA in accounting from Eastern Michigan University.
Pontius commented, “I cannot perform the duties of Presidents all by myself so here is a list of the elected officers who have pledged to help me.”

Secretaries — Margo Wilson/ Bob Garwood.
Treasurer — Duane West.
Lion Tamer — Bill McCay.
Tail Twister — Tim Tewalt.
Benevolence Director — Bob Garwood.
Membership Committee — Marty Smith, Cathy Muldoon, Charlie Straight.
3 year Directors — Keith Pontius/ Sue Tewalt.
2 Year Directors — Bob Cover/ Cathy Muldoon.
1 Year Directors — Robert Schneider/ Virginia Schneider.
Phyllis Fiedler remains Historian and Ventita McAlvey continues to serve as Chaplain along with an even larger list of Program Chairpersons to carry out community programs.
The Fairfield Glade Lions Club is the largest in membership in the State of Tennessee with 120 members.
They are also one of the most active with programs to help our community. Meetings are held at the Druid Hills Country Club on the third Monday of each month starting at 6 P.M.
