The Fairfield Glade Lions Club has named Emily Morgan as September “Student of the Month.”
Morgan is a senior at stone Memorial High School. Her Counselor Lisa Bulford recommended her for this honor.
Emily made the following statement, “As a high school student, trying to juggle school and working part time at Food City can be overwhelming. But, with my loving family and a determine mind set I’ve been able to keep up my grades and enjoy my senior year.”
That provides some idea of the person Morgan has become in her young life.
School activities include membership in the Interact and Leo Clubs, playing volleyball and singing in the choir. She really enjoys her High School Multimedia class by anchoring and helping broadcasting school news on the website. She says she is also trying to survive enrollment in duel English classes.
Her future hope and ambition is to study mass communications and find an enjoyable life in this field. She is still checking out four-year Universities to attend and earn her degree.
Morgan is the second “Student of the Month” to be honored by the FFG Lions Club in 2012.
The Lions will give a total of ten such honors by the end of the school year to students in CCHS, SMHS and the Phoenix School.
A special dinner will be held in May 2013 at the Lions Club meeting in Druid Hills Country Club to recognize all the students and their families along with the High School Counselors.
In addition, all “Students of the Month” will be eligible to apply for college financial assistance from the Lions Scholarship Fund.
The winners for this award will be announced at their individual graduation ceremony.
