Fairfield Glade Rotarians are encouraged to attend a weekly meeting wherever they may find themselves. It is easy to do since there are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries around the world. Many members will find a meeting while traveling, some members when visiting family “back home’ will drop by their old clubs, several of our current members visited our club while vacationing in Fairfield Glade. As a remembrance the visiting member will exchange a club banner with their host club. One Fairfield Glade Rotarian gets the prize for visiting the furthest-most club this past Spring. James Thompson travelled 30 hours, which included a 16 hour plane ride, to reach Bangkok, Thailand he then flew North to the city of Chiang Mai and attended their weekly meeting. James presented their club president with a Fairfield Glade Rotary Club banner and received their banner in exchange. Upon his return, James presented Fairfield Glade Rotary Club President Kim Hartman with his gift banner. The 103 Convention of Rotary International will be held in Bangkok Thailand May 6-9, 2012.
