For The Vista
The inaugural Fairfield Glade Rotary Club’s Wine on the Plateau held Saturday, September 21 was a big success with nearly 600 patrons attending.
As you might recall, that Saturday was very rainy and cold but the Rotary Club had a contingency plan by moving the event from the outdoor site into the Ballroom at the Community and Conference Center.
Over 60 varieties of fine wine were available for tasting, beer was provided and 12 local restaurants provided delicious food.
Many attendees said they really enjoyed the event and are looking forward to next year’s Wine on the Plateau Festival.
Thanks to the generous host Cumberland Medical Center and sponsors Dave Kirk Automotive, Crossville Heating and Cooling, and Cumberland County Bank for helping to make this festival possible.
The Rotary Club would also like to thank the restaurants that supplied samples of popular menu items.
These restaurants were: The Phil-ing Station, Lefty’s BBQ, Catfish Cabin, Legends at Druid Hills, 5th Street Marketplace, Scarlett Catering, Cumberland Café, Cumberland Mountain State Park Restaurant, R&B Café, Stonehenge Grille, La Costa Mexican Restaurant, and Red’s Ale House.
Most of all, the Rotary Club wishes to thank the hundreds of local residents who attended.
With your support, funds were raised to support many worthy local charities and student scholarships.
The annual Rotary Club Auction and Casino Night normally held in the fall is being moved to June 6, 2014 next year.
