Friends of Glade Fire Dept. host meeting for Sept. 10

For The Vista
The initial kick-off of the “Friends of Fairfield Glade Fire Department” was held on Monday, July 18, at Firehouse Station #1.
The purpose of Friends of FGFD is to help with many of the responsibilities previously taken on by either the Fairfield Glade Community Club or the Fairfield Glade Fire Department themselves.
This would allow the FGFD to focus on their primary duties of training for saving lives via the newly established first responder program and of course, fighting fires.
One obviously thinks about fund raising, which will be a key component of the “Friends” role.
But equally important is the promotion and visibility of the FGFD and what they do to keep our community safe and protected.
The objective is to engage “Friends” to take on various tasks and programs to promote our FGFD … all of which were discussed at the first kick-off meeting of “Friends of FGFD”.
An update on the Mini-Pumper Attack Truck (MPAT) Campaign …$ 14,418 of the $75,000 goal has been met!!!
The FGFD is a 501(c) 3…all donations are tax deductible.
