Bible study begins winter session Jan. 14

Mary A. Kassian will be the DVD instructor at Bible Study Tech for our winter session.

Bible Study Tech is an Inter-Denominational Women’s Bible Study in Fairfield Glade, which offers all women a chance to study the Bible in-depth.

Kassian will lead us in a study that really hits home.  She masterfully presents the biblical principles to help women revolutionize their speech habits and improve their relationships by focusing on ways to positively avoid sharing gossip, throwing negative barbs, or snapping sarcastic replies throughout everyday life.

Class members need no pre-requisite instruction to join, only an interest in Bible Study.  Beginner Bible students and Bible Study experts will be comfortable in the informal and friendly learning atmosphere.

You are welcome to join them on Mondays from Jan. 14 thru Feb. 25, at  1:30 P.M. to 4 P.M., at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall.

Cost of the class is $20 for the workbook.  Pre-registration is suggested by Jan. 3.  This pre-registration helps us have enough workbooks.

Please send your name, address, e-mail address and phone number with your check made out to Bible Study Tech to:  Bible Study Tech, 104 Prescott Lane, Fairfield Glade, TN 38558.  For more information please call 931-456-9282.

Write Touch Inspirational Volunteers needed for AARP tax-aide program

Each year the April 15th deadline for filing tax returns involves thousands of AARP Tax-Aide volunteers.

Nationally, AARP TaxAide personnel have been providing free tax assistance services since 1968 and locally, in Cumberland County, for over 15 years.

These volunteers, trained and certified with the cooperation of the Internal Revenue Service, work at locations in Pleasant Hill, Tansi, Jamestown, Fairfield Glade and Crossville.

This past year, these sites helped more than 2,000 taxpayers

New volunteers are always needed.  Previous experience in tax return preparation is not necessary; training classes are held in January for both the tax laws and the computer software used to prepare the returns.

For more information about the program or to become part of the team, call 456-4212.
