Kayak Connection outings scheduled

Attention Kayak lovers: Are you interested in kayaking with friends? Are you wondering where and when to make a kayak connection? Have you missed your lake buddies?

Even though we are not an official kayak club, we have been meeting at local lakes for several years.   Our present online list of kayakers has become too numerous, so we’re hoping that this publication will make it easier to organize your calendar of events.

All outings are at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety. Here are some safety guides for your kayak adventure. Please do not kayak alone. Pack a whistle, ID, sunscreen, water, hat, seasonal clothing, rope, water shoes, and towel. Wear your life jacket. Register your kayak (annually) and place the tag on the kayak. If you choose to kayak alone, please inform the marina staff and/ or tell a contact person where you’ll be and when you plan to be finished. Weather conditions need to be checked. Storms can arise without warning.

The Kayak Connection gathers on Saturdays from May through September. We leave promptly at 8:30 am and finish around 10 am. It is a wonderful opportunity to make kayak friends. September 26 will be an end-of-year breakfast pot luck at Lake St. George picnic area, after we kayak.  For more information or for any other questions, please contact Nancy Burleson at 484-6149, Pat Kowalsky at 250-1159.
