Light N Lively plans St. Patrick’s celebration
Light N Lively St. Patrick’s Celebration March 11th. Attention all new residents. The Light N Lively Dance Club will celebrate St. Patrick’s Wearing of the Green for their dance on Friday March 11th.
The evening will begin at 7 P.M. at the Library (formerly Multipurpose) Building on Lakeview Drive in FFG with music provided by Frank Byars from 7 to 10 P.M..
The cost is $10 per couple, and $5 for a single. This is a BYOB event. Water and ice are provided. Dessert and coffee will also be provided.

Wings set to SOAR
The ever popular Wings to S.O.A.R program is returning to Cumberland Mountain State Park on Sunday, March 6.
Sponsored by the Friends of Cumberland Mountain State Park (FCMSP), this educational and family-oriented program will begin at 2 PM at the Recreation Lodge.
The show features raptors flying and walking through the crowd and provides great information on various birds of prey including hawks, owls and vultures. It is always a crowd pleaser with the birds affording memorable close encounters.

Golf Tourney planned
Hospice of Cumberland County Plans Annual Benefit Golf Tournament
The Hospice Board of Directors will host its 25th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 11, at Lake Tansi Golf Course, according to tournament chair Norm Torrey. This event will raise funds for the only not-for-profit hospice organization in our local area.
Donations are needed for golf hole sponsorships, prizes, and golfers’ gift bag items.

The golf tournament format will be a four person scramble with a maximum of 32 teams. Three flights of teams will be a combination of men’s, women’s and mixed teams, determined by the team scores at the end of the golf round. $1,500 in cash prizes will be awarded to the First and Second Place Team in each flight, along with prizes for Closest to the Pin and Most Accurate Drive contests.
The entry donation is $75 per golfer and includes green fee & cart, one mulligan per player, gift bag, lunch, beverage, and prizes. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:45 A.M.prior to the shotgun start of the tournament at 1 P.M. In the unlikely event of a rainout, lunch will be served and prizes awarded by drawings vs. play.

Republicans to meet
The Cumberland County Republican Women’s Club will have their next meeting on March 3 at 5 P.M. at the Republican Headquarters. They meet every month on the first Thursday of the month if you are interested in joining them.
Ther guest speaker will be Brad Allamong from the Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce, who will present an overview of what the Chamber does and how we can volunteer in his organization. We will be finalizing our food sale for March 4 and 5 at the Antique License Plate Sale.

Tea Party scheduled
The Cumberland County Tea Party will meet at the Community Complex (Fair Grounds), 1398 Livingston Rd., Crossville TN 38571, on Tuesday, March 8, at 6 P.M. The doors open to the public at 5:30 P.M. All concerned citizens who believe in limited government are invited to attend.
The program will be presented by Kevin Kookogey, who was appointed in June 2015 to lead Senator Ted Cruz’s campaign in Tennessee. Mr. Kookogey rose to national prominence when the IRS targeted conservative groups. He testified before the House Ways and Means Committee about IRS obstruction and was interviewed by national media, such as the Wall Street Journal and Fox News.
The Cumberland County Tea Party is not connected to any political party and no dues are collected.

Ready For A Corned Beef ‘N Cabbage Dinner?
Yep, it’s that time of year again, and Fellowship Baptist Church, 12 Westminster Court, Fairfield Glade, is preparing for our annual Corned Beef ‘N Cabbage Dinner. This year the celebration is going to be on Thursday, March 17.
They will start serving promptly at 5:00 and again this year the cost is only $8 per adult, with children 10 and under, just $4.
Paid reservations are needed by Monday, March 14 at noon. Come to the church office Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 9 to Noon, or call 931-456-2525 to make alternate arrangements.
The menu, prepared by our own fabulous Kitchen Crew, is home-cooked corned beef, cabbage, boiled potatoes, cooked carrots, rolls, desserts and beverages.
Fellowship Baptist is located just off Peavine Road, 1/2 way between and across from The Custard Cabin and Tuttle Lane.
PPCUG set to meet
The Plateau PC Users Group (PPCUG) will meet Monday Mar 21, at the 127 South Senior Center. Note: Meeting time for winter sessions is 3 to 5 P.M.
Carl Nordeen will review Windows 10 covering these topics: pinning programs to the start menu, removing programs from the start menu, resizing tiles, grouping programs of the same type, Microsoft Edge (replacement for Internet Explorer) and other interesting features. Bring your questions and he will attempt to answer them!
The meeting begins with questions/answers. The Q/A session is followed by a short business meeting, with the main presentation beginning at 4 P.M. The Plateau PC Users Group meets the third Monday of the month at the 127 South Senior Center. PPCUG is dedicated to helping its members and the community better enjoy the use of personal computers. Visitors are always welcome at our meetings.

Memory Loss Care Group meeting slated
The next Memory Loss Care Group meeting will be 11 P.M., Thursday, March 10th at the First Baptist Church – Music Center, Room #139.
Please enter on the porch side of the church. This month Carolyn Barnes of the Fair Park Senior Center of Crossville will be speaking on the various activities and programs offered at the center. This is a great resource for our community, plan to come and learn about the many benefits you might enjoy.

Meeting is scheduled
The Cumberland County Piecemakers Quilt Guild will hold its monthly Business Meeting on Wednesday March 2, promptly starting at 10 AM. (Come early to meet and greet.)
The meeting is held in the 127 South Senior Center, located on Hwy 127 South in Crossville. Glade Council of Churches to hold Easter Sunrise Services
Easter, 2016, is on Sunday, March 27 this year. The annual Fairfield Glade Council of Churches Easter Sunrise Service, sponsored by the Westminster Presbyterian Church, will be held at 6 A.M. in the sanctuary of the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, 231 Westchester Drive, Fairfield Glade.
The freewill offerings will be divided equally between Peavine Care Center and Fairfield Glade Resident Services. Please make checks payable to Fairfield Glade Council of Churches.

Dulcimores to gather at Glade Mall March 19
Come listen to the Dulcimores in the Village Green Mall on Saturday March 19th at 10 A.M.
This local group, which specializes in early American music of the Appalachian Region, includes: dulcimers, violin, guitar, banjo, and harmonica, as well as others on occasion. The present group, which practices weekly at the Plateau Creative Art Center, has played for various community, church, and group events throughout the years.

Membership meeting set
The first membership meeting of the Upper Cumberland Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is scheduled for Monday, March 21, at Shoney’s Restaurant on Hwy 127 N, beginning at 11 A.M.
The business meeting and program will follow the buffet lunch (at individual member cost). The guest speaker will be a representative from the Veterans Home in Murfreesboro addressing state veterans homes in general; eligibility; self-funding status; and detailed information on the Veterans Home in Murfreesboro. The meeting is open to all chapter members, MOAA national members and spouses.

Local Democratic Party to host county delegate Convention
Cumberland County Democratic Party will host its Democratic Party County Delegate Convention on Saturday, March 5, at Good Samaritans, 281 Tenth St., Crossville,, to select the delegates from each county to the District Convention.
The doors open at 11 A.M. and the event is open to all registered voters in the county, supporters of the Democratic Party, and those who agree to support the nominee of the Democratic Party in the 2016 Presidential election.
Medicare Class slated

The class will consist of training on Parts A, B, C & D, as well as Medigap policies and ways to prevent Medicare fraud.

Vietnam Veterans Day set at Courthouse
As a Commemorative Partner of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, The Crab-Orchard Chapter NSDAR will turn the Gazebo on the Courthouse Square YELLOW on Tuesday, March 29 at 10 A.M. in honor of our Vietnam Veterans on Vietnam Veterans Day.
ALL former military who served during the Vietnam Era whether “boots on the ground” or by military service during the war years will be recognized.

Wags & Whiskers Fundraiser is Back
The Wags and Whiskers “Spay-Ghetti” Dinner fundraiser runs throughout February (Lunch or Dinner) at the Genesis Italian Grille on Interstate Drive in Crossville.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the restaurant and include Genesis’ great spaghetti, meatballs, bread, salad and a drink.
Proceeds will benefit the Wags and Whiskers’ low-cost spay/neuter program, a community service that has “fixed” over 10,100 cats and dogs.

Glade Dog Park is in need of donations
The Fairfield Glade Dog Park seeks donations for the annual Upcoming Trash & Treasure Sale slated for Saturday, March 19 at the Fairfield Glade Community Center.
This event is their main fundraiser for the dog park.
They will be collecting items for this sale on the first Saturday in December, January and then expand to every Saturday in February from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M..
You may drop off your donated items at the Glade Store-N-Lock located on Peavine Road behind Manny & Isabella’s Restaurant.
The dog park sign will be visible from Peavine Road. and board members will be there to help at Unit #197.

Home and garden vendors reserve your table now for the Fairfield Glade Ladies Club Sixth Annual Spring Marketplace Home and Garden Show on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14.
This two day show will be held both inside and outside at the Village Green Mall, on Stonehenge in the center of Fairfield Glade.
