Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church is again offering a ten week series of Stretch & Tone Classes.  This fitness program is designed for men and women who, for one reason or another, no longer want to exercise on the floor, but still desire a full body workout.  While sitting comfortably in a chair, or using it as a balancing tool, participants will employ proper breathing techniques as they work to stretch lower and upper body muscles.  Light hand weights will also be used to strengthen, tone, and shape the body.

Classes will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall every Monday and Thursday morning, 10:00-11:00am, April 23, through June 28.  Prior sign-up is not necessary, but plan to arrive about 15 minutes before the first class, in order to register.  Wear comfortable clothing and bring a hand towel with you, as well as a $1.00 contribution to help defray church expenses.  Light hand weights will be available for use during class, for those who cannot bring their own.  Call Nan @456-2629 if you have questions regarding these classes.

SEEKING VENDORS FOR HOME AND GARDEN SHOW

The Fairfield Glade Ladies Club is hosting its 3rd Annual Spring Marketplace Home and Garden Show on Friday and Saturday, May 18-19, 2012, in Fairfield Glade, TN.  Located just six miles north of Exit 322 on US I-40, the resort community of 8,000 full-time residents and hundreds of time share visitors, offers a unique opportunity for vendors to present their wares and expertise to a select group of homeowners.

This year the show has been expanded to include vendors offering  bedding plants, landscapes, garden designs, patio furniture and other home décor ideas.  Home improvement contractors who will bring their expertise are especially welcome – with constant remodeling and new construction (over 200 homes each year) there is always an interest in everything from countertops to flooring to garage doors to gutter guards.

Held in conjunction with the annual Kitchen and Garden Tour, the event attracts hundreds of visitors from surrounding areas.  Maps to the homes and gardens being viewed must be picked up at the mall, thus guaranteeing  maximum possible exposure for the participants in the Home and Garden Show.

The show will be located both inside and outside at the Village Green Mall, in the center of the community, at 126 Stonehenge Drive.  Exhibits will be open to the public from 9 a.m. until five p.m. both days and set up will be the afternoon of May 17 and the morning of May 18.  Entry fee for the two day Spring Marketplace is $65 per booth.    Booth sizes are:  6 x 12 feet (inside) and 10 x 12 (outside).  Interested vendors may contact Marsha Mellert (931-456-4680) for booth space and information.  Email inquiries can be addressed to [email protected].  If you prefer, an application can be downloaded from the web site:  www.ffgladiesclub.org.  Just click on ‘club events‘ and follow the instructions.
