There’s a new campaign in town! The Fairfield Glade Dog Park has begun a monthly Dog of the Month Photo Contest.
Genny (owner – Shelley Chandler) was recently voted as November’s Dog of the Month out of more than 10 submissions.
This is just one of the many events that the Dog Park hosts to encourage people to get involved in the Fairfield Glade Dog Park. Another upcoming event is our Annual Bake Sale on Tuesday, December 18th from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. at the Village Green Mall in Fairfield Glade.
There will be a variety of home-baked treats for humans and canines for sale with all proceeds going to support the Dog Park.
What is the Fairfield Glade Dog Park? The Dog Park was founded by the late Jerry Mount more than 10 years ago with a land allocation (located behind the Fairfield Glade Admin Offices) from the Community Club.
The Dog Park is now run by the Dog Park Board consisting of seven volunteers who manage the operations and events for the park. The common element is the love of dogs and the realization that dogs add value and comfort to our lives.
The Dog Park is a special place where the dogs play and romp together. In the summer, they splash together in the swimming pools that keep them from getting overheated in the sun. It is a place of harmony for dogs and their owners. There are posted rules of courtesy and everybody who attends regularly abides by them. In short, The Fairfield Glade Dog Park is special. It contributes to the health of our dogs and their owners.
The Dog Park is a tireless endeavor that operates on donations from the public and an energetic group of volunteers. There are water bills to pay, fertilizer to purchase, lime to apply in the spring, grass to cut weekly in the summer, and the list goes on. This is a valuable asset for our community, regardless of whether you own a dog or are just a dog-lover. It contributes without costing a cent from the Community Club.
