The fall meeting of the Fairfield Glade Neighborhood Watch Coalition (FGNWC) will be held at the Fairfield Glade Community and Conference Center on Thursday, November 14, starting at 9 A.M.
The theme for the day will be scams and fraud in our daily lives. The Feature Presentations will attempt to educate the audience on the prevention of computer scams and fraud as well as Medicare fraud and medical identity theft.
The speakers are experts in their field and should provide a very educational session.
ALL Fairfield Glade residents are invited and encouraged to attend, in addition to FGNWC coordinators and members of existing Neighborhood Watch groups.
The agenda will allow for plenty of time for questions & answers following all the presentations.
A. Introduction of Board Members and guests – Evelyne Kornreich, VP Chair of Neighborhood Watch Board
B. Update of Neighborhood Watch activity and programs, i.e., accomplishments, home decal program, membership update, and FGNWC web site promotion
C. Security Update from Randy Hoover, Chief, FG Public Safety, will speak to current activity in Fairfield Glade regarding scams, fraud and safety.
D. FEATURE PRESENTATIONS: Computer scams and fraud as well as Medicare fraud and medical identity theft.
1. Casey Cox, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department Investigator, to continue discussion of scams, current County concerns regarding crime, new and upcoming threats, and new initiatives in the Sheriff’s Department.
2. Alan Baker, Treasurer of Plateau PC Users Group, will address the prevention of email and internet scams and fraud.
3. Loni Holloway, SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) Project Coordinator, will present information on Medicare fraud and medical identity theft. Senior Medicare Patrol educates and empowers seniors to prevent Medicare and Medicaid fraud.
