For The Vista
Beginning on Monday April 2nd and every Monday morning during April, Evelyne Kornreich, a Medicare Information Volunteer, will be available at the Fairfield Glade Resident Services (FGRS) center at 7014 Peavine Rd.
Kornreich will be able to meet privately with residents from 9:00AM till Noon to discuss any questions or concerns they have regarding their Medicare coverage.
This Program is sponsored by the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) and the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP). FGRS is happy to furnish office space so that residents can come and speak with their volunteer. After April, Kornreich will be available on alternate Mondays or as demand requires.
Kornreich is a resident of Fairfield Glade who has been trained by SHIP and SMP in Cookeville. Having moved to the Glade one and a half years ago she began “caring” for a relative. She soon discovered she did not know enough about Medicare.
Kornreich began attending seminars in Cookeville after she found out there were no trained Medicare Information Volunteers here in Cumberland County.
Becoming an Information Volunteer appealed to Kornreich and she began her specialized training. With the vast knowledge she has obtained about Medicare, she is now ready to assist the residents of Fairfield Glade. Evelyne realizes that not every one might be physically able to come to the office, so she is willing to accommodate those individuals by phone. It would be best to make an appointment so the possibility of a waiting period might be avoided.
Appointments can be made by calling toll free 1-877-801-0044 to scheduling with Kornreich in Fairfield. This number can also be used to access any information needed on an urgent basis as counselors are available and willing to assist you.
Kornreich will also be participating at a Health Fair in June and a FGRS Medicare Workshop on July 11, in conjunction with a planned series of Lifetime Learning classes focused on Medicare. In these uncertain times there is no need to be in the dark about Medicare. Get answers to your questions through this local service from someone who cares.
