For The Vista
The Fairfield Glade area has had several mail boxes vandalized in the last few months.
“We have also had mail taken out of some of the mail boxes,” said Glade Public Safety Chief Randy Hoover.
“Fairfield Glade Public Safety is working with the U.S. Postal Service and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department investigators on the incidents.”
The latest reported theft from a mail box to place on August 15.
Hoover noted that curb side mail boxes are easy access for crooks that are looking for your identity or personal items that may be sent out or received in your mail box. Public Safety is asking Fairfield residents to immediately report any suspicious activity in and around mail boxes to the Public Safety Department at 931-484-3785.
If you are a victim of mail theft, fraud, or vandalism, you should report it to the local Sheriff’s Department or Public Safety Department.
You can also file a complaint with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service by calling 1-877-876-2455 or by e-mail online to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
