McCarthy is Firefighter of the Year

The Fairfield Glade Fire Department announced at a dinner meeting December 9, 2017 anniversary awards for firefighters who have been on the department for at least 5 years and the highly coveted Firefighter of the Year Award.
The Firefighter of the Year Award is given to a firefighter (or firefighters) that have shown exemplary performance and contribution to the Department.
The Stonehenge dinner evening turned out great with several Fire Department Board members attending, also including Mr. John Conrad, President of the FGCC Board and Mr. Bob Weber, FGCC General Manager .
This year’s Firefighter of the Year is Chief Terry McCarthy. Terry has performed over the past year as Fire Prevention Officer, Safety Officer, Lieutenant and most recently Fire Chief.
Chief McCarthy has been a dedicated loyal Fire Department volunteer for almost 8 years and has taken many specialty training classes in the areas of his assignment.
Also recognized for anniversaries were Firefighters Bob Bennett, Jay Damron and Ed Ostrowski for 15 years of service, Bob Tavernier and Gary Storer for 10 years of service, and Abe Celik and Vince Peters for 5 years of service.
