“SAM”Group Plans Christmas Party

The ‘SAM’ (Single Adult Ministries) Group sponsored by Fellowship Baptist Church, 12 Westminster Court in Fairfield Glade, has scheduled their annual Christmas Party for Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 1 P.M.  at Ryan’s Restaurant in Crossville.

All area singles (widowed, divorced, never married), 25 and older and not in a ‘living -together’ arrangement, are welcome to join us. Church affiliation is not needed.

They will meet at the Fellowship Baptist Church parking lot at 12:15 P.M. and carpool from there at 12:30 P.M. Singles living in or around Crossville, can meet us at Ryan’s Restaurant at 1 P.M. Look for Emily or Sharon …they will be wearing name tags.

Cost of the meal for seniors in the group is $6.49 and includes a beverage. Younger folks’ cost is $6.99; both are plus tax.

Again this year they will have a White Elephant Gift Exchange, with a value of between $5 and $10.  What’s a White Elephant Gift?  It is something you ALREADY HAVE, that you don’t want or can’t use, but, is in good condition.  Gift wrapped, please.

The group would appreciate a reservation, so they will have enough tables and chairs set up ahead of time. (Of course, last minute walk-ins are always welcome.)

Call Emily at 931-456-1409 or Sharon at 456-0634 or the church office at 456-2525, to make the reservation, ask directions or with any other questions.

The Cumberland County Tea Party will meet at the Community Complex (Fair grounds) on Tuesday, December 10 at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5:30).

All concerned citizens who believe in limited government are invited to attend and let your voice be heard as we head into next year’s general election which may be the most important election of our  lifetime.

Guest speaker will be conservative State Representative Joe Carr, who is challenging Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) in next year’s Primary Election.

It is important to remember that the Tea Party is not connected to any political party and at this time has not endorsed any declared candidate in the coming elections.  The purpose of the Tea Party is to present all conservative candidates to the voting public so that they will be able to make a concerned decision before entering the polling booth.

Rep. Carr is a farmer, small businessman, married to his wife Ginny for 30 years and proud parents of three children.  The Carrs own Cedar Snag Farms, a 95-acre farm in Lascassas, TN.  Rep. Carr believes elected officials are elected to lead and must lead on principle.  First elected in 2008, Rep. Carr began championing free enterprise reforms to help create jobs, promote small business and create a better environment for Tennesseans to raise their families.  His legislative accomplishments have helped Tennessee become the 4th most business friendly state in the nation.
