Opportunity to support local hospice
For The Vista
The Fairfield Glade Hospice Auxiliary, in conjunction with the Trails Committee of the Fairfield Glade Community Club, will hold “Hit the Trails for Hospice” Saturday, October 3, from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M.
This event, fun for the entire family, is being held at Mirror Lake (corner of Peavine Rd. and Stonehenge Dr.) in Fairfield Glade.
There will be a variety of trails for walking, a trail for every skill level, and even one for walking your dog. Live outdoor music and fresh grilled food will add to making this a great way to enjoy a crisp fall day with your entire family.
Break out your walking shoes, gather up your team members, and start collecting your contributions. You may to choose to walk independently if you wish. Add something crazy to your outfit, (scarf, tee shirt, hat,) -be creative, make yourself and your team special.
Each year this event gets bigger and better with 29 local clubs and organizations participating. This year, special awards will be given out to the Cumberland Plateau Hiking Trail Marathon participants who successfully completed their marathon or half marathon in the month of September.
The Fairfield Glade Hospice Auxiliary especially want to thank their event sponsors, including Dentist, Dr. Peter Rashe, and Happy Hound Realty, as well as the many others who have donated to this great event.
Team Registration Forms and Contribution Forms are available by contacting Barbara Grove, by email at [email protected] or Kathy Small at [email protected].
The event will be held rain or shine. For more information please contact Mary Jo Paige, Director of Marketing & Events, at 931-707-2167. Deadline for the collection of monies raised by teams is September 30.
• Another opportunity to be charitable will be when the Fairfield Glade Hospice Auxiliary hosts the 2015 Hospice Holiday Ball. Reservations are now open.
The 27th annual event, scheduled for Sunday, December 6th at Druid Hills Country Club, will once again usher in the holiday season. A spectacular evening including dinner, dancing and auction has been planned for all attendees!
Beginning at 5:30 P.M., ladies and gentlemen will arrive in their holiday attire to enjoy cocktail time with friends, visit auction tables to place their bids, and mingle amid the beautiful holiday decorations. Chef Jerry has designed a characteristically unique and delicious menu to be served as guests enjoy the music of The Bill Sleeter Trio of Nashville.
The donation for this festive occasion is $60 per person ($25 may be considered a charitable donation for tax purposes), with the proceeds benefiting Hospice.
