For The Vista
A highly energetic country group well known in the area, Classy Country Strings will be in the spotlight at the Sept. 24 meeting of the Fairfield Glade Resident Homeowners meeting, starting at 6 P.M. at the Legends.
Having played in many venues in our area, Dick Walter, Chuck Tallent and Rob Baker make up this “Classy” group.
Chuck Tallent, lead vocalist and playing rhythm guitar is a native of Tennessee who spent over 26 years in the Navy and is a retired Lieutenant Commander. Chuck sings a large variety of songs including the sounds of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and George Jones, just to name a few.
Dick Walter has a professional background as an accountant. However, through his hobby of music, Dick has mastered the violin (fiddle), the upright String Bass, and Electric Bass. He has played at the Playhouse and Palace Theatre locally.
Rob Baker as vocalist, vocal harmony, and playing the fiddle, guitar or steel guitar is from Dickson, TN. Joining the Army after high school he served in Germany playing in a Special Services Band. After the Army, he worked outside the music industry but stayed extremely active in music.
One of Rob’s most cherished accomplishments was working a Country Music Award Show with the group “Alabama” where he played fiddle with them. Rob’s quick wit and humor leaves every audience wanting more!
