Rumor has it…but what are the facts?
For The Vista
Have you heard that Legends is closing in November and December? Well, a fact check reveals that these are false rumors. Not true.
Legends is not closing in November or December. However, in anticipation of lower activity and sales during the winter months, operating hours are being reduced in order to offset expenses when they exceed the income level on certain days and during certain periods.
And yes, in order to do that, the large dining room is closing but breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in Fireside Lounge, as it always has been, and in the Westchester Room when availability allows. This will begin the week of November 5th. Until then, all will be as is.
(The schedule on Page 2A should make it clearer).
A new menu will also begin on November 6th and specials will replace buffets. There will be Fried Chicken and Pasta Specials on Wednesdays and Prime Rib Specials throughout the week.
A new “TO GO” program is also in the works for those of you that just don’t feel like going out but don’t want to deal with the hassles of cooking either.
Club events and programs are also going to add variety to your entertainment and dining choices as well. On Saturday, November 10th, Legends and Fireside will convert into a real Tennessee Honky-Tonk complete with the true western swing and classic country styles of Monte Good and the Honky-Tonk Heroes from Nashville.
There is also a special Community Appreciation honoring our Veterans on the 12th. Dinner and a Movie featuring Titanic and a Chef’s Table fills the weekend of the 16th and 17th and a new Lunch and Learn class on the 19th. And of course, there is Chef Jerry’s Thanksgiving Day Feast on the 22nd. More events will be coming in December as well.
Regretfully, reservations for less than 10 can’t be accepted so we can maximize space and turn the tables sooner. Please call Kathryn Swicegood at 931-707-2068 for parties of 10 or more during this time and she will do her best to accommodate you, space permitting.
Card players are still invited to play in the Dining Room at Legends until 3 P.M., Wednesday thru Saturday, and can order from the menu for lunch as they always have.
All of this is being done to keep the costs of operating the restaurant during slower times of the year to a minimum. Each month will be evaluated for future decision making in this regard but plan on similar operating hours for Legends in January and February of 2013 as well.
Stonehenge Bar and Grille will still be open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner during the winter months.
