The Swing Street Big Band has added a Friday night dance to its Fairfield Glade Community and Conference Center program. It will be at 7 p.m., Oct 5.
The Community and Conference Center is at 128 Stonehenge Road, six miles north of I-40 (Exist 322, Peavine Road).
Joining the band for this performance will be Phil Barham, head of the saxophone department in the music school at Tennessee Tech.
Barham has an undergraduate degree in woodwinds from the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas. He holds a master of music in wind instruments from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The band’s performance continues a 15-year tradition of regular big band dances in Fairfield Glade. Normally the band performs on Saturday nights.
“The band sees this as an opportunity to play for more visitors to Fairfield Glade.
“A Friday night event provides an opportunity for Fairfield Glade time share members to attend the dance. Time share weeks usually end on Saturdays and departing guests usually leave before our regular performance,” said William Schneider, The Swing Street Big Band director.
Early reservations are advised. Seating is limited.
For information and reservations call the Community and Conference Center at 931-484-3722. Reservations can be made and tickets paid prior to the event in person at the Center.
Phone reservations may be charged to a credit card. Tickets are $13.75 per person, including tax, and are available at the Community Center.
