The Fairfield Glade Lions Club will hear the latest report about the Peavine Road project at their March 18th meeting.
Director of Operations for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Ken Flynn and his wife Jennifer, who is Community Relations Officer, will be the speakers.
Ken was named Director of Operations for Region 2 in January of this year. He has held several positions with TDOT since joining the Department in 1984. Jennifer began her career in the TDOT Region 2 office in Chattanooga in 1975. There are 24 counties included in Region 2.
Ken’s continuing goal is to promote the mission of TDOT to be the best department of transportation in the nation by using the best technology and knowledge available to safely and efficiently build, preserve and maintain Tennessee’s transportation system.
Ken will try to explain what will probably happen during construction.
Jennifer’s job is to work with citizens, TDOT personnel and lawmakers to resolve concerns or complaints.
Lion PDG Keith Pontius is responsible for making arrangements for Ken and Jennifer to attend the meeting.
“We are very pleased to have both of these highly qualified people to attend our meeting,” Pontius said. “There is a lot of speculation about what will happen during the Peavine project. It will be very beneficial and helpful to get first hand information from these experts.”
The Lions Club has many interesting speakers at their meetings to keep their members informed about community projects.
