The most popular aerobic incentive, Treasure Fit, begins this week and will run through Sunday, March 4 at the Cumberland Medical Center Wellness Complex at Fairfield Glade.
“We’ve had more response to this incentive than any others we’ve run over the years. Members like the challenge of trying to get to the prizes. It’s fun and it motivates them,” said facilities manager Tres Baucum.
“We especially want to help those who have joined on a ‘Free Friday’ to live our motto, ‘Get Active!’ We want them to quickly experience how much better they’ll look and feel at the end of the challenge.”
“Treasure” is contained in three chests. Participants earn an opportunity – after three hours of exercise – to select one of the three chests, draw a paper from its corresponding box, and, hopefully, get the right key to open the chest’s lock.
Prizes in the chests include two chances to win $500 cash, coupons for free personal training, free months of membership, a Polar Heart Rate monitor, gas cards and T-shirts.
Additional prizes include Biofreeze, lanyards, sports bags, calorie counter books, Therabands and head phones.
The three-hour exercise requirement includes time doing cardio, weight exercises and aerobic classes.
Members must log in to their personal tally sheet with an employee, both at the beginning of exercise and again to log out when they are finished. A Complex employee must sign the tally sheet to verify the time exercised. Recording must be done the day of the exercise session.
Additional ways to earn one drawing is by taking a MedGem test or receiving a massage.
Outdoor exercise qualifies, but it must be with a Wellness Complex employee. Participation in aerobic classes will count for one hour, provided a member is in the class the entire time, and signs in for the class with both first and last names legibly written.
