For The Vista
On Tuesday, November 18, members of the Art Guild at Fairfield Glade held their Annual Meeting with the Art Guild Trustees. “Teach, Learn, and Inspire” is the motto of the Guild’s active organization of volunteer artists and supporters of the arts.
The trustees provide insightful guidance concerning the Guild’s wide variety of outreach activities including art classes for youth and adults, art exhibits and shows, and special events. Members of the Art Guild wish to express their appreciation of their Trustees and 2013 event sponsors for a successful year.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Trustees stepped outside to view two new sculptures on the Art Sculpture Trail located immediately adjacent to the Art Center.
The Art Sculpture Trail was paved to handicap-accessible code earlier this year through a generous grant provided by the Fairfield Glade Rotary Club.
The Guild is actively seeking to install additional sculptures along this unique path through donation by artists or persons interested in funding a sculpture in memory or honor of a special family member or friend.
Be inspired! Visit the Plateau Creative Art Center (PCAC) located at 451 Lakeview Drive.
isit the sculpture garden, pick up a class schedule, and view the current gallery exhibit which features paintings, jewelry, pottery and a Christmas tree decorated with unique gift items.
All exhibit items are for sale and created by members of the Guild. The Art Guild at Fairfield Glade is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization.
Food For Thought is Theme for December
Beginning December 6, the gallery at the Plateau Creative Arts Center (PCAC) will feature art in the theme of Food for Thought. The public is invited to the PCAC gallery to view original artwork in the form of oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastels, colored pencil, photography, mixed media, pottery, sculpture, and jewelry, created by Art Guild members.
In addition to viewing this fine art work, visitors also learn about the many art classes available during the month, and depending on the day and time, may view a class in session, or watch the open painting, beading, or figure drawing sessions that take place in the studio.
The gallery is also the perfect place to shop for a reasonably priced gift of art for Christmas.
The PCAC is open Monday through Friday 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. and Saturday and Sunday 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. Beginning on December 24 the gallery hours will change to 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. Monday through Saturday. Located at 451 Lakeview Drive (off Peavine), the gallery is handicapped accessible.
