TTU President to speak at Lions Club

Dr. Robert R. Bell, retiring president of Tennessee Technological University, will be the featured speaker for the Fairfield Glade Lions Club meeting on March 19 at The Legends.
Now completing his 12th year as head of the university, Dr. Bell is highly recognized as both an educator and business leader in the community. He received his Ph.D in organizational behavior and management from the University of Florida in 1972.
Prior to assuming the presidency, he served as Dean of the College of Business Administration at TTU.
The author of numerous publications in the field of management, organizational design, computer science and quality/productivity management, Dr. Bell has served four terms on the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Bridge National Quality Award, and is presently completing nine years as a member of the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence. In 2005, Dr. Bell was the first recipient of the Ned R. McWherter Leadership Award presented by the TN Center for Performance Excellence. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the First National Bank.
As a community leader, he is involved in numerous local and civic organizations., contributing to the welfare of a large area of Middle Tennessee.
Dr. Bell and his wife, Gloria, have three children and three grandchildren. They are members of the First United Church in Cookeville.
