The Upper Cumberland Development District Area Agency on Aging and Disability is proud to announce their 8th Annual Caregiver Senior Expo, to be held on Wednesday, October 28 at the Tennessee Technological University Hyder-Burks Pavilion from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
UCDD/AAAD is pleased to announce that Charlie Neese, Meteorologist from News Channel 5 will present “Severe Weather Safety” during lunch. This will give participants a chance to sit and rest while eating lunch and learning exciting tips on how to prepare for severe weather conditions.
In order to meet the growing aging population’s needs and those of caregivers, UCDD/AAAD will continue to expand Senior Expo and offer new information and opportunities. This year, we are adding new vendors and new health screenings to promote health and wellness.
Wendy Askins, UCDD Executive Director stated, “We are so blessed to live in a community which allows each of us to plan for and make good choices, for ourselves, and the people we love. Because of the generous contribution of Co-sponsors and exhibitors of this years’ Expo, UCDD/AAAD is able to offer this event with no admission cost to attendees. Our organization wants to help you take care of the people who are important to you. We are fortunate to live in a community where we are accustomed to caring about each other. Our organization is committed to providing services that meet the needs of our community. Through a unique collaboration with local hospitals, health care providers, private sector companies, non-profit, local and state organizations we are able to offer older adults, family members and caregivers the opportunity to obtain a variety of health screenings and learn about community and private sector resources available for the caregiver.’
Sponsors and exhibitors with products and services geared to today’s senior adults will want to make sure they participate in this wonderful Senior Expo. To find out how your business can reach thousands of people age 50 and over, call Jane Mee at the UCDD/AAAD office at 931-432-4111.
