Birds of a feather really do flock together — even in bitter temperatures and rough conditions. These geese found a hole in the ice on Lake Dartmoor last week. Geese will find the warmest spot and a clearing also enables them to have a food source. Resident Paul Preuss took these photos looking across the lake toward the Dartmoor Marina from his house on Chelteham Lane. “I think the birds are at the center/deepest part of the lake just to the south of the dam where there is a small spot that did not freeze,” Preuss said.
