A “Zumbathon” to benefit the Crab Orchard Care Center is scheduled from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Woodmere Mall Skating Rink.
The entry fee for the event is non perishable food items that will be donated to the Crab Orchard Care Center.
“The Craziest Christmas Sock Ever” contest is open to all who are wearing their wildest holiday socks.
Experienced Zumba instructors, who will lead the dancing, include Joyce Galloway, Lauri Michael, and Page Perrigan. All are instructors at the Cumberland Medical Center Wellness Complex at Crossville.
“We are looking forward to dancing on such a big floor,” said Michael.
“When there is a big group, the music takes over and everyone just moves together. We welcome beginners because that’s how they learn this dance,” she added.
Prizes will be awarded. Some include a $20 gift certificate from United Grocery Outlet, two six-inch sub coupons from Subway, Big Breakfasts from Kali’s, and a meal from Cancun. There will be a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the event.
It is a one-hour massage by a Wellness Complex massage therapist. There are also other prizes given out as well.
The Woodmere Mall Skating Center manager has donated the floor time at his facility for the Crab Orchard Care Center benefit.
